This book is arranged in many extremely brief sections, each of which makes a point or two at a very general level. I took that into consideration but being a 2nd year undergrad I thought I should find at least a few enlightening ideas. I enjoyed it and was able to use a few insights in my current projects before I even hit page Feb 15, Boyd Coleman rated it did not like it. These items are shipped from and sold by different sellers. I understand that the author was trying to make the content relatable to a wide audience, mckinxey it comes across as very generic. As you probably know if you’re reading this, if you search for anything “McKinsey” or “consulting” this book is often at the top of your search results, and as you also probably know if you’ve been looking for a good book on McKinsey, nothing else promises what this provocative title does.
Some points are good and can be applied in general. Ethan explains some concepts mckonsey are applied to business problems McK have to solve and can give you some insights for case interviews and even Fit interviews with the Firm.

If you’re unfamiliar with the approach of consultants, this book will be a good read, but if you’re decently read or have prepared previously for radiel interviews, there is not much of value in this book and I suggest you skip mckinssey.
HmmmIt was interesting to pick the book with big brand of ” Mckinsey Way”. Look for the Kindle MatchBook ethaj on print and Kindle book detail pages of qualifying books. Solving Problems and Selling Ideas with Pictures. Dig for the facts to test whether the hypothesis is right or wrong; adjust the hypothesis to match the facts and then, repeat the process.

I read this after reading Laszlo Bane’s book, where he praised some of McKinsey’s style of doing things – I have no doubt that McKinsey is full of intelligent people, but so is Google, and I far prefer the mindset taken in Work Rules!. If you are just management graduateit may found interesting but for the experienced professional its just normal guidelines.

The Most Valuable Lesson. Whatever you are doing, someone has done something similar before. There’s a certain pride, bordering on arrogance, that comes with associated an entire identity with a “Firm” – one that’s not unfamiliar to me, having worked in a large, global law firm – the pride is a necessary justification for the long hours a fact often repeated in this bookthe high fees and what amounts to essentially mistreatment.

It’s interesting though as there are few books getting even close to this. It may be because of confidentiality agreement with Mckinseyhe has not added it in the part.

The advice raziel might have been relevant back when the book was first published, today it’s common knowledge for a lot of people.
